# Move Group

Automate Banking already moves users between groups based on what is on their record: age, how long ago they enrolled, when they last logged in, which accounts they hold, and their balances. Q2 SMART traits add insight into **how users actually bank** — who behaves like a business, which features they use, and whose activity has changed.

This page shows the new kinds of group moves those traits make possible.

## How It Works

1. **Choose the rule.** Pick one or more traits, such as "Q2 classifies this user as a small business."
2. **Automate Banking checks every user.** On a schedule, each user's traits are compared against your rule.
3. **Matching users are moved.** They are placed in the group you choose, and every move is recorded in a report. You can preview the list before anything changes.

| Days since enrollment and last login | Which payment features a user actually uses, and when they last used them |
| Account balances and total deposits | Estimated income, share of wallet, and unusual deposit activity |
| Current group membership | Security setup status, enrolled services, and brand |

## Find Business Users Hiding in Consumer Groups

Many business owners open personal accounts and are enrolled in a consumer group. Q2 can tell from their transactions that they run a business.

### Small Businesses in Consumer Groups

* **Who:** users in a consumer group whom Q2 identifies as a small business
* **What happens:** moved into the business group
* **Benefit:** business owners get business tools without asking, and you uncover business relationships you did not know you had
* **Traits used:** Small business users, Q2central Group

### Side Businesses and Sole Proprietors

* **Who:** users whom Q2 identifies as a microbusiness, such as freelancers and side businesses
* **What happens:** moved into a group with light business tools, such as invoicing or business transfers
* **Benefit:** they are served before they look for a business bank elsewhere
* **Traits used:** Microbusiness users

### Commercial-Scale Activity

* **Who:** users whose activity Q2 identifies as commercial
* **What happens:** moved into the commercial banking group with the matching approvals and limits
* **Benefit:** clients get the controls their activity calls for, however they were first enrolled
* **Traits used:** Commercial users

## Match Features to Real Behavior

Account type tells you what a user could do. Payment traits tell you what they actually do.

### Businesses Running Payroll

* **Who:** business users who start running ACH payroll or uploading ACH batch files
* **What happens:** moved into a treasury management group
* **Benefit:** growing businesses get more tools as they grow, without a manual request
* **Traits used:** Processed ACH payroll, ACH batch file

### Higher Limits for Active Senders

* **Who:** users who regularly send money through ACH, wires, and external transfers
* **What happens:** moved into a group with higher daily limits
* **Benefit:** fewer blocked payments and support calls from your most active users
* **Traits used:** Outgoing transaction usage

### International Wire Users

* **Who:** users who actually send international wires
* **What happens:** kept in the group that allows international wires, while everyone else is not
* **Benefit:** international wires stay limited to the users who need them
* **Traits used:** International wire transactions

## Reduce Risk

Traits show when a feature goes unused or activity looks unusual, so access can be tightened automatically.

### Remove Unused Payment Access

* **Who:** users who have not sent a wire or external transfer in 12 months
* **What happens:** moved into a group without those features, and can be moved back if needed
* **Benefit:** wires and external transfers are favorite fraud targets. Removing unused access shrinks the target
* **Traits used:** Domestic wire transaction date, International wire date, External funds transfer date

### Complete Security Setup First

* **Who:** users who have not set up where their Secure Access Code is sent
* **What happens:** moved into a group without high-risk features until setup is done
* **Benefit:** sensitive features are only available to users who can be verified
* **Traits used:** Defined Secure Access Code (SAC) target missing in UUX

### Review Unusual Deposits

* **Who:** users whose deposits suddenly jump far above normal
* **What happens:** moved into a group with lower transfer limits while your team reviews the activity
* **Benefit:** sudden spikes can signal scams or money mule activity. Lower limits buy time to check
* **Traits used:** Deposit - unexpected activity, Deposit - activity score

### Dormant Business Accounts

* **Who:** business users with a business checking account that has not been used in six months
* **What happens:** moved into a reduced-access group
* **Benefit:** an open but unused business account is easy to misuse. This catches it even when the user still logs in
* **Traits used:** Small business checking account transaction date, Commercial checking account transaction date

## Recognize Your Best Relationships

Balances show what a user keeps with you today. These traits show how much of their financial life you are part of.

### Primary Relationship Customers

* **What happens:** moved into the group that matches their brand
* **Benefit:** each brand keeps its own look, products, and features
* **Traits used:** Zone

## Good to Know

* **Combine traits** to make a move more precise. For example, move only small business users who also run ACH payroll.
* **Move and notify together.** For example, move a user into the treasury group and send a push notification explaining their new tools.
* **Availability varies.** Not every trait is enabled at every institution. Your Q2 Customer Experience Manager can confirm which ones you have.
