What Is Self-Service CDs?

Self-Service CDs lets customers open, manage, and close Certificates of Deposit entirely within online banking — no branch visit, no phone call, no waiting. Everything appears directly inside the Candescent OLB dashboard.

What Customers Can Do

There are two main areas: Open an Account — start a new deposit account:
  • Open a new Certificate of Deposit from available terms (6, 9, or 12 months)
  • Open a Checking account (Free, Interest Bearing, or Premium)
  • Open a Savings account
  • Open a Money Market account
  • Fund the new account from any existing internal account
Manage Certificates — for existing CD accounts:
  • View all current CDs with live balance, maturity date, APY, and interest rate
  • Renew a certificate at the same or a different term at today’s published rate, with the option to add or withdraw funds at the same time
  • Close and transfer a certificate balance to any internal or external account

How to Access It

Customers find the CD widget inside their Candescent online banking dashboard. Depending on how the institution has configured the navigation, it typically appears under Accounts, Products, or as a dedicated CD Management tile. There is nothing to install or download — the experience is fully embedded.

What to Expect

Every action follows the same pattern:
  1. Review the account details shown at the top of the screen
  2. Fill in your preferences (term, funding account, amount)
  3. Review a Transfer Authorization or confirmation modal showing the exact details before anything is submitted
  4. Receive a Success confirmation with your new account number, effective date, APY, and transferred amount
If something goes wrong — for example, if your funding account does not have enough balance — an error message is shown and no transaction is submitted.
