This page lists the Q2 SMART traits you can use as criteria in Automate Banking. Traits are calculated by Q2 for each online banking user and are used to filter the users in an automation’s source group (SMART audience). For how traits fit into an automation, see the Q2 SMART Overview. For examples of traits in action, see Move Group Use Cases, Push Notification Use Cases, and Targeted Ads Use Cases.
Trait availability varies by institution. This list covers the Q2 SMART traits supported in Automate Banking, but not every trait is enabled for every institution. Contact your Q2 Customer Experience Manager to confirm which traits are available to you.

Value Types

Each trait returns one type of value. The value type determines which operators and values you can use when configuring a criterion. Scores are calculated over the last 180 days. A frequency score compares how often the user makes a type of transaction. An RFM score combines recency, frequency, and monetary value into a single ranking.

Product Traits

Each banking product has a trait for whether the user holds it, a trait for how many they hold, and a trait for when they last made a transaction on it. Product traits are based on how each account’s product type is mapped in Q2.

Checking

Savings and Deposits

Retirement and Investments

Cards

If a debit card is linked to an account that is mapped to another product type, the user will not appear for the debit card traits.

Loans and Lines of Credit

Commercial Products

Other Accounts and Services

Digital Banking Activity

Payments and Transfers

These traits are based on what the user has actually done, not on which features are enabled for them.

Digital Banking Features

Bill Pay traits Supported only for institutions offering Bill Pay through PSCU PayLynx Payment Manager, iPay Solutions, FIS Fusion, or CheckFree (Fiserv). Eligibility and enrollment traits apply to consumer Bill Pay only. Feature-specific traits Card Controls requires Q2 Card Management, and CardSwap registered cards requires Q2 CardSwap. Centrix ETMS Positive Pay does not include users enabled through SSO and may include users without Positive Pay eligible accounts. The e-statement trait is not available to institutions that use an external e-statement provider through SSO. Number of Favorite accounts applies only to institutions using Composable Dashboard.

User Profile

User Classification

Q2 classifies each user based on their transaction data and the banking features they have used.

Financial Insights

Q2 Goals

These traits require Q2 Goals.

Goal Categories

Alerts and Notifications

Each trait is Yes/No and shows whether the user is enrolled in that alert or notification type.

External Accounts (CPFM)

These traits come from Contextual Personal Financial Management (CPFM) and describe accounts users hold at other financial institutions. A user who has not linked an external account will not have data for these traits.
