Automate Banking already moves users between groups based on what is on their record: age, how long ago they enrolled, when they last logged in, which accounts they hold, and their balances. Q2 SMART traits add insight into how users actually bank — who behaves like a business, which features they use, and whose activity has changed. This page shows the new kinds of group moves those traits make possible.

How It Works

  1. Choose the rule. Pick one or more traits, such as “Q2 classifies this user as a small business.”
  2. Automate Banking checks every user. On a schedule, each user’s traits are compared against your rule.
  3. Matching users are moved. They are placed in the group you choose, and every move is recorded in a report. You can preview the list before anything changes.

What Q2 SMART Adds

Use Cases at a Glance

  • Combine traits to make a move more precise. For example, move only small business users who also run ACH payroll.
  • Move and notify together. For example, move a user into the treasury group and send a push notification explaining their new tools.
  • Availability varies. Not every trait is enabled at every institution. Your Q2 Customer Experience Manager can confirm which ones you have.
